Based on Wilson proving over and over again to be nothing more than a
miserly scrooge..this payroll data and team rankings for 2007 is probably
more accurate than some of the others:

there is some truth to that comment. in some team's cases - it is not about
players 8 through 18 but more about 30 through 40. the replacements for
injuries, veterans hanging around but can fill spots, the young ones moving
up, the special team players that come in and are the ones that fill
important gaps.
so is the upside down list quality ? all teams need replacements every year. |

Matt Bowen and Daimon Shelton weren't even on the team this year. The site
is wrong.

they may not have been on the team this year but that doesnt mean that the
bills were not partially responsible for their salaries with other teams
after trading or releasing them. their contracts may not have been up yet

The only thing the Bills would have been on the hook for is unamortized
signing bonus. Bowen received just a $300K signing bonus last year on a 2-
year deal, meaning at most the Bills would have had a $150K cap hit for him
this year.

LOL! Better cue up your old reliable "I was wrong" post Joe.
This list was deemed wrong months ago.
Another swing and a miss by our most notable troll.

Yup. The Bills haters and trolls in the group brought this Fox list up
when it first came out. It has been proven back then to be inaccurate. |

Bowen and Shelton were two obvious mistakes I saw just from a quick glance.
I'm sure there are several others outside of those and omitting Trent.

Bender might ignore it, but I will not.
The team salaries Fox is quoting for 2007 are actually based on the
players 2006 salaries.
Don't believe me?
Look for yourself.
See if you can find Trent Edwards salary.
How about Lynch?
Poz?
Cannot find it? Did they play for free?
Still don't believe it? Pick a player, any player on the Fox site.
Click on the link that will take you to the players individual page.
Look at the salary. It will say 2006.
Here's Chris Kelsay's page:
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player?statsId=6384
"2006 Salary: $502,200"
Kelsay made $500K in 2007? Doubt it. Why? Kelsay just signed a big fat
contract during the off season.
Look at Tripplett's salary on the Fox site. $7 million?
Wow. Talk about paying a player.
Except that $7 million salary was earned in 2006, when he first signed
with the Bills. AND, that figure includes his signing bonus. All $5.5
million of it.
I cannot wait until I see the "2008" salaries from the Fox site. We'll
get to see Dockery's $13 million, Langston Walkers $7 million, and
Kelsay's $7 million salaries. That will really skew the payroll.
That's $27 million tied up on 3 players.
Joe, if you are going to bash Wilson as being "cheap", at least do some
research before you hit send.
