Tim MacMahon, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys head
coach Wade Phillips said he feels the Cowboys were the better team
during their Divisional Round playoff game. "After looking at the
tape, I certainly feel like the best team lost the game. I feel like
we outplayed them, but we lost," Phillips said.

This stuff always sounds weak from the losers. If you're a better team,
you should have proven it.
Give the other team credit and STFU.

If he was just saying that he thought they were better than they played,
I'd agree with him. Romo was average. They had several uncharacteristic
defensive breakdowns ...
But he thought they actually played better on the field that day?
Um ... whatever.

1994 NFC title game was not won by the better team.

I still enjoy the Cowboys' fans collective denial about that game.

Sure it was, it was won by the eventual SB Champion 49ers, who prevented an
unprecedented 4-peat of the Cowboys. That week and this week are the only
times I remember JJ breaking down and crying. Course it is harder to tell
now with the plastic surguries and all. |

Do you recall that superb photo in SI which showed what Deon
did to Michael on the fateful play?
It was crystal-clear. Barry Spitzer should have pulled the team
off the field. The game was an insult to the watching world
and the S/B trophy should be "taken away" from Steve Young. |
