Drafting Defensive Linemen

NE has always done well when it has drafted defensive linemen in the
first round. I think they should go that route and draft a hybrid
lineman/outside linebacker who can crash into the opposing backfield
and disrupt passing and running plays. Are there any players in the
draft who fit that bill?

funny u just basically described what the giants d line did to the
patsies* in the SB.

Yep, Vernon Gholston is a monster DE from Ohio State that can play LB. He
would fit the bill
and the Pats could probably get him at #7. We will see...

We have plenty of OLB for at least another season. ILB is another story.

Yep. Thomas should probably go back inside. That leaves Colvin and Vrabel
on the outside. They'll need to rework Colvin's deal or let him play out
his final year and have a guy like Gholston waiting in the wings. The need
is too great to let him walk, IMO. And he just came off a productive
season.
