Hey guys ... I'm heading for the playoffs with a mess at RB ... my only two
healthy players are Chester Taylor and Fred Taylor ... I'm hoping Brandon
Jacobs will be back by week 15 when I need him, but I doubt LJ is coming
back this year, and Priest Holmes is already done ... I'd like to cut
Priest, but the selections on the waiver wire are thin:
Top 5 for season:
Derrick Ward
Correll Buckhalter
Greg Jones
Jason Wright
Mike Sellers
Top 4 this week:
Andre Hall
Anthony Thomas
Leonard Weaver
Marcel Shipp
If anyone knows of a decent fill-in for the remainder of the season, please
let me know ... a one-week fix does not help ... and fwiw:
12-team league
all TDs are 6 points
passing yards are 1 per 50
rushing/receiving yards are 1 per 20
no ppr
Thanks for any help, Dave

If you have Jacobs, then you should definitely pick up Ward, who is
healthy again this week. Then you would have at least one starter
between Jacobs and Ward. Andre Hall MIGHT have some value, but I
would not put him ahead of either of the Taylor's at this point. No
one else is worth consideration.

Thanks for the response William ... I'd like to pick Ward up, but am not
sure about his health ... I was waiting until today (Wednesday) to see if he
practiced ... we get 15 transactions, and I'm currently at 10, so I don't
want to waste one on Ward if he's not back yet.
Do you (or anyone else) have any info. on Jesse Chatman? If he happens to
be out long-term (like Ricky), would Patrick Cobbs be worth a pickup? I
know nothing about him.

Maybe Gado, time will tell, both don't look to bright though. |

Apparently, the Dolphins didn't like Cobbs either, since they brought
in Samkon Gado. Chatman practiced partially, and Cameron sounds
intent on getting him out there this weekend. Chatman has a nice
matchup against the Jets, but is a bit of a risk of getting re-
injured.
Ward practiced fully and is expected to get the bulk of the carries
against Chicago. I think he is further along in his injury recovery
than Chatman and thus is a safer bet.
My full running back rankings for the week are here:
http://www.fantasyfootballviews.com/2007/11/29/fantasy-running-backs-week-13/
so you can see I have Ward only slightly ahead of Chatman, and Gado
near the bottom of the list.

ARGHH! Ward recovered so fully from his groin injury that he was able
to go out and break his leg. Meanwhile, Chatman's ankles are re-re-
injured as well. |

That's okay William, some poor bastard picked up Ward about an hour before I
was able to verify that he practiced on Wednesday ... another guy dropped
Reuben Droughns Sunday morning, so I have a waiver claim in on him ... plan
"b" is Samkon Gado ... good news is that I have a bye this week, so I have
one more chance for a starter to tear something and open someone up ...
thanks again.
