football fans, they are only NASCAR fans looking for something to do in
between NASCAR seasons.
Just as I said in January.
There hasn't been a football post in their NG since 2/22!!
This from a team that went to the SB.

That is a shame indeed. I thought it admirable when they went along with
Jacksonville to almost the big game. And right out of the box. A very nice
achievement indeed. Now to hear their fans are not posting much for them
lately is disappointing.
Funny thought though for the panthers. It took the Redskins at least 40+
years before our first post! I cant think of any early Internet/BBS/Usenet
post about them before probably before the 1960's

Big deal. Almost all their discussion takes place on a web
board. New technology and all that, since the Panthers
weren't around long to build a UseNet foundation before
the web boards began getting popular.
The same is true for other groups where regulars are
moving to other media simply because it's easier and
doesn't have the same troll factor. |

Quite correct. The Falcons fans barely post to their newsgroup. They
prefer to use the message boards tied to the team's official web site. |

They're smart. It saves them the headaches of low-class, cross-posting
trolls like Charlie. BTW, Charlie admitted, in the Eagles NG, that he
quit watching the Eagles. At least the Panther fans watch their team play.

Don't try to make sence to Charlie. He still thinks the Panthers have a
much harder schedule next year because of the Super Bowl. Same thing here.
He, and it looks like a few others that were stupid enough to agree with
him, think that a team's fan loyalty rest on the amount of UseNet posters.
I myself, don't care much for the web based boards and wish there were more
fans on the Panthers UseNet group. |

I don't think it shows much by way of loyalty but I think you get more
intelligent discussion on usenet than you do on Internet BBs.

Try the NASCAR or Duke Basketball newsgroups. That's probably where they
all are right now.

The reason is they just don't understand Usenet (like most people). |

Well...they barely show up for games, either.

There are... They all wear #7 Jerseys, and quit on their team when
said #7 was injured in preseason.
