As much as an Eagle fan hated seeing the rival Giants win the Super
Bowl, it was great to see Tom Brady (with his little boy haircut) and
the Patriots finally lose! Giants deserved it even though I still
think they're a mediocre team.

The Giants started out slow, but they came together when they needed to and
got it done. Hat's off to the Giants and their fans.

I agree. On paper they are mediocre, but they got the job done when it was
all on the line. Contrast that to us when we played the Pats....I admit it,
we choked when it counted. I'm sick of all the NFC east temas with all the
sup;erbowls but us.

Thanks. I came here to thank you guys for Spags, who after this performance
by his D will probably be playing us both as head coach of the Redskins, if
Snyder has any brains. Of course, we paid you back for Spags a few weks ago
by making TO cry. I'm sure you folks loved that even more than we did.

I disagree. With their talent, I always had thought they were an
underachieving team.

Personally, I dislike the NYG more than I dislike Dallas. However, the NYG
proved they were the best team in the NFL by beating NE, GB and Dallas. I
think the NYG are very talented, especially at DL and WR. I am most
impressed with Tom Coughlin, whom I thought was headed for unemployment,
around this time last year.

I'm sick that Eli won the game, while our franchise QB was regurgitating, in
the same circumstances, against the same opponent.

You, and anyone else who followed football. Especially now that Tiki had
gone....

BTW, didn't see it quoted, but did Tiki Barber say anything special on his
Good Morning America gabfest?

Who would have thought the subtraction of Tiki Barber and Jeremy Shockey
would yield a Lombardi trophy?

I placed the blame on Coughlin more than anything. Be realistic, Tiki was a
little long in the tooth. And Shockey, for all his play making ability,
seems to drop a ball for every great play he has. (well, not unlike Plaxico)

I may have gotten the GMA thing wrong. It might have been the Today Show. In
any event, not something I "take" in.

Tiki seems smart, he probably understands the addition by subtraction rule,
and could now be looking at an almost HOF, versus a HOF career.

I think the NYG are trying to trade Shockey, which will be difficult because
he can't pass a physical exam. I have liked Jeremy Shockey since his
helmetless heroics against the Eagles, however, his career might be all but
over, due to his broken leg and ankle. At his age, he will lose a few steps
as he tries to return, and he can't possibly be as good as he used to be.
Early in his career, Shockey was among the best at his position, however the
younger, healthier TEs have more upside.

Whenever a football player suffers a severe leg injury, he always loses a
step, if and when he returns. In the NFL, the average career is 3 years,
which is primarily due to severe leg injuries. Each team averages
approximately 15% rookies, 15% first year players, 15% second year players,
which is half the team (after you subtract the specialists). The teams are
annually restocking with youth, to replace the injured veterans. When a
starter gets injured, the backup gets his opportunity. When the healthier,
younger, lesser-paid backup proves himself, the injured veteran is in the
rear view mirror.

Uhhhh, yeah sure, except when you're a name like Shockey. He'll be
playing somewhere. He's not a marginal player, which is what you were
describing.

Rick, I agree that Shockey still has some tread on his tires. Furthermore,
I would love to see the Eagles acquire him, somehow, because he would be an
upgrade over LJ Smith. My point is that nobody should expect him to be as
productive in the future, as he used to be, when he was healthiest, which is
why the NYG might be willing to part with his contract.

Giants to the Super Bowl? ...absolutely a complete joke.

ITS THE GIANTS we are spared two weeks of farve slurpping by the sporting press.

Giants win Congrats to the Giants and fans. I thought with the last touchdown from New England they had won. Maybe a little respect for the NFC and especially the East thereof. Oh, and this shows that sometimes QB take a _long_ time to develop.

Giants win, Giants win..... The coin toss........

Go Giants! Looking forward to a different result from week 17. BobbyG
