Congrats to the Giants and fans. I thought with the last touchdown from
New England they had won.
Maybe a little respect for the NFC and especially the East thereof.
Oh, and this shows that sometimes QB take a _long_ time to develop.

I would have had to root for the Patriots if they were playing Dallas
tonight, but in another great game a couple weeks ago, the Giants
knocked off Dallas, so tonight I was rooting for the Giants.
Based on the Giants' performance in the last 3 playoff games, I
suspected that they would win tonight.
What a super job by the Giants!!
- Beat Tampa Bay in wildcard game in Tampa Bay
- Beat the NFC top-seed Dallas in divisional playoff game in Dallas
- Beat Green Bay in conference championship game in Green Bay in one
of the coldest games in NFL history (something that GB virtually
always wins)
- BEAT PREVIOUSLY UNDEFEATED NEW ENGLAND IN SUPER BOWL!
WOW! One of the best NFL games ever!! |

Careful. You'll completely confuse Carr |

reply:
Well, respect for the Giants in the East anyways. Other teams had
their chance against the Pats and couldn't come within 40 points of
them. |

Really? Tell that to the Ravens, Eagles, Pittsburgh, Jets, Miami,
Jacksonville and San Diego, all of whom did this year. |

We'll see how Eli does next year. The thing is, throughout his career
has had stretches of playing well followed by stretches of playing just
horribly. You don't earn the consistency label with just a few games. Go
look at his game logs to see what I mean. If you're gonna have a 3.5%
int rate, I'd much rather it be one INT every game than none in two
games and three in one game.
He didn't have a great game in the Super Bowl. Twice during that last
drive NE dropped game-ending INTs. He played better than I expected, but
anointing him is premature.
The Giants defense won that game. They controlled the line of scrimmage
from the very beginning. Very impressive.

Come on, that is ridiculus. He just won the MVP of the Super Bowl. What
more do you want? |

You're wasting your time. Carr lives in Fantasyland, making up one
bullshit statement after another. Like the one he posted recently
claiming that I didn't think Monk should be in the HOF last year when
he has been calling me a newbie all year and I wasn't even here to
comment. He posts one lie after another and no one cares what his
wacko views are anyway. Least of all, NFL scouts |

I should change my opinion of his performance because the people in
charge of marketing the Super Bowl felt they would get the most mileage
from electing him MVP?

I disagree with you, which of course makes me worse than Kulp. He
played great when it counted, especially that last drive. You remember
how Campbell had comeback drives like that last season, except that
they always ended with an INT? Well, clearly Manning was "The Man" as
you like to say - he led a comeback, last minute drive. His scramble
and throw to Tyrese after almost being sacked is one of the greatest
plays in super bowl history. He also threw 2 touchdowns, and the INT
was not a terrible throw.
Anointing his premature?! Yeah ok, well I guess it's not premature to
anoint him Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl MVP. Those marketing
guys just got carried away right?
I'm worse than Kulp! |

He played better than I expected and better than Campbell did under
pressure. But, seriously, in the last drive did you not see the INT that
was flat-out dropped? And the other that could have easily been caught.
Both were questionable decisions and poor passes.
But that's fate for ya. I hope the Giants keep Eli for a long time. It
will work to our advantage.

I would have given it to the defensive line. If the Pats had won, it
would have been Welker hands down. And if you really want to be honest
about it, Welker was more valuable to the Pats than Manning was to the
Giants.

Then who should have gotten the MVP in your opinion? Name a single player
that performed better. |

Yep. You get a hard-on from bitching about personalities instead of
actually discussing the issue at hand. You've changed over the years.
Interestingly, every person who has ever bitched at me about this whole
"once your mind is set" stuff is just as stubborn as me. At least I
don't bitch at people for not changing their beliefs. I just try to
persuade them to my side, but I don't complain about them if they don't
agree.
