Hope he plays, but it's nice that Seattle has other options, unlike in
the past when we'd have to rely on guys like Koren Robinson to come up
big.

The lack of confidence of some in this newsgroup is abundantly amusing
to me.

I'll be the first to praise your predictive prowess if they win by 10 or
more. Smile

I'm thinking we're looking at a much harder road though winning by more like
3 points if we play like I know this team can. I would normally have to
question anyone who predicts us by 10 points as to whether they understand
the problem we face but I know you do.

I seriously like your attitude. I'm so tired of seeing the NFL channel say
something like "We'll be right back with a preview of the Green Bay -
Seattle game right after the commercial break" only to sit glued to the TV
to see a 10 minute cap of the Packers with not one mention of anything about
the Seahawks. They're not being so blatant like last week about how the
Packers will win but they sure aren't giving us any real exposure. Like what
did I expect though, right?

After we beat the Packers (notice the optimism), it'll be the same against
the Cowboys or Giants. I know how it's going to be but it still annoys me.
All I can do is take my revenge as the Seahawks do by upsetting the
carefully laid plans for any of the other teams advancing except us. That's
the only way to get our just due.

Papa smurf Emmitt on the NFL channel seems to hate us and has a look like
he's seasick or something whenever anyone suggests that we might win this
game and advance.

No, you won't. I'm sure I'll post something first. It's true that I view the
teams as pretty evenly matched in general, but we could easily come away
with a bunch of int's and a nice fat win just as he's stated.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping for a humiliating blowout too, but it could
just as easily go the other way in this one and Green Bay could have the big
fat win. It has been pointed out and rightfully so that without a couple of
big defensive plays, Washington could have added a couple of big touchdown
throws to wide open receivers that turned into interceptions for us because
of those big defensive hits. I don't consider the Washington game as solid a
three TD win as some do.

I do love BillB's attitude in this one and as such, I'll give him his kudo's
if he called it right as well as grovel for my lack of spine in
acknowledging Green Bay has a chance. Smile

The one thing that does worry me about this game is that the Seahawks can
blow hot and cold. If they come out without their "A" game, well, you know
what happens then unless Green Bay does the same thing in which case it's
still a dogfight.

Whatever, I'll be glued to the TV and bleedin' blue and green like always.
We want the ball and we're gonna' score!

Where was my praise for predicting a 14 point win over
the Redskins?

No, I don't believe it can.

Regardless, I don't like to see Hawk fans talk to
fans of the Packers with eyes downcast, "hat in hand".

"Excuse us, you're right, the only way we win
is a lucky INT or two. But there's always that
chance! Wink wink!"

It's almost like some of you are apologizing for being
optomistic. Grasping for ways in which
the Hawks can defeat the MIGHTY Packers.

Not me.

...and if they had made a TD on that muffed kickoff, they might have had
momentum.

...and if they had at least gotten a FG on that muffed kickoff, they
might have had momentum.

...and if Moss hadn't let up on that route, he would have gotten that
pass instead of Tru.

...and if Collins hadn't been pressured, he wouldn't have thrown that
INT to Babs.

...and if your aunt had had balls, she would have been your uncle.

Who *didn't* know that Babs would run that last one back? Come ON.

Oh heck I don't think its impossible for the Seahawks to blow out the
Packers on the road. In fact I don't look at the Packers as all that mighty,
they are young, REALLY young, save Favre. I *feel* its gonna be a close
game, but yeah if Seattle gets on a roll the young guns on the Pack could
get a little desperate and cause that to snowball. I would be delighted with
a Hawks blowout, and not surprised.

Bill,

I haven't been doing the downcast eyes thing Bill. In fact, just opposite.
I've been royally pissed that people outside of Seattle don't recognize what
we have here in this team and what Holmgren has accomplished over the last
five years and I've been vocal about it over the last few weeks. I've been
talking all last week and this week about our four wide receivers and how
Green Bay can't cover them all. I've touted our defense and how they can
keep us in the game. I've argued with a couple of GB trolls until I just got
sick of their bullshit but other than acknowledging that it's going to be a
tough game and that we could lose it just as well as win it, I'm certainly
not apologizing to anyone for thinking we can win Saturday. I've never said
in any post of mine that we need to be lucky to win. We need to bring our
"A" game, we need to have our four great WR's out there whom I don't think
Green Bay can cover all day, and Holmgren has to coach his ass off but I
never said luck would have anything to do with it.

I'm trying not to be arrogant about it either because that attitude in
others makes my blood pressure soar. When you can't admit that you aren't
infallible, it shows a disturbing lack of humility in my book. Don't confuse
that attitude with being apologetic or lacking in confidence or feeling the
need to be lucky to advance. I don't consider what you predicted as arrogant
either but rather supremely confident. Good for you as I polinted out. As I
can tolerate your optimism, you need to tolerate my trying to be realistic
about things. I believe we can win this thing but I'm not sure from my 32
years of watching the Seahawks play if we will win this thing. I do feel
that Holmgren really wants this game and will do everything he can to
prepare the team and make good decisions on game day to make it happen. I do
have confidence in that just maybe not as much as you do.

I said if we play like I know we can, we can win the game. Just because I'm
not predicting a 10 point win and I've said I thought that was more than the
margin of victory I see happening will be, I've also said I admire your
attitude about the whole thing too. Don't go and put words in my mouth that
I didn't speak. I'm not speaking for anyone else here but I've been saying
all week that we can win this thing and I still believe it. I do happen to
believe we could lose it too if we don't play a good game. That doesn't have
anything to do with a "hat in hand" attitude either. Just good ole common
sense and my 32 years of watching this team. Somewhere in all this, you have
to respect that too. No one can guarantee a victory and there are things
that can happen out of our control that can pretty much make it next to
impossible to win.

I'll discuss this game with any GB fan that want's to have a "discussion"
but as soon as they get disrespectful or bring on the superior attitude, I
just bag another troll and move on. I certainly haven't apologized to anyone
on any opposing team anytime that I can remember because I thought we would
kick their ass and said so. You know that I speak my mind and don't back
down from a position I think is right. You also know that I listen to others
and can be pursuaded to change my opinion too.

So..........

You must be thinking of someone else.

Just to set the record straight on my testimony from this week and last and
next week too. Smile

Just saying we don't need to get cocky. We had the breaks go our way some of
which went that way because we made them go our way admittedly but we need
to bring an attitude to the game that says we aren't taking these things for
granted that they'll just happen on their own. We still need to play the
game like we're the underdogs and fight for every inch.
