Since the agreed-to AFL-NFL merger in 1966, The Oakland Raiders have
played in the most Championship games of any AFC team, and second-most of
any team in the NFL, with 14 appearances over five decades.
The Raiders are the only American Football Conference team and one of just
three NFL teams - along with Minnesota and St. Louis - to play in
Championship games in each of the last five decades.
The Raiders are the only NFL team to have played in Super Bowls in four
different decades - the 1960s (Super Bowl II), the 1970s (Super Bowl XI),
the 1980s (Super Bowls XV and XVIII) and the 2000s (Super Bowl XXXVII).
In their five Super Bowls, the Raiders have had four different head
coaches and four different starting quarterbacks.
The Raiders are one of only eight NFL teams and one of five in the AFC to
make at least five Super Bowl appearances.
The Raiders are one of only seven NFL teams to capture at least three
World Championships of Professional Football with victories in Super Bowls
XI, XV and XVIII.
The Raiders are the only AFC West team to qualify for the playoffs in each
of the past five decades.
The Raiders are the last AFC West team to capture the division three years
in a row (2000,2001, 2002).

Let's not forget - Raiders were the last AFCW team to make it to the
superbowl and win the AFC.
Having said that - go Chargers!!! (Damn, that left a nasty taste in my
mouth)

I think that is the problem JD, it is too easy to forget in times like

Didn't realise it was mid-summer over there - we had temperatures all the
way down to 10C today, I almost had to put a jumper on.

That little dash in front of the integer indicates that it is
less than zero. A look at the temperatures in the normal
range of human experience will also show you why we prefer the
fahrenheit system. For me normal temperature ranges are from
100º F to -100º F considering "real feel" and "wind chill".
200 discreet degrees of description. For the uninitiated that
is 37.7º C to -73.3º C or about half of the actual descriptive
ability. While the metric system does make number
manipulation easy on those who do not have quality skills,
such as simple addition and subtraction, it is hardly actually
beneficial in a real sense.

Umm, considering the infinite series of fractional components
available BETWEEN each discreet integer I thought that the
obvious and deliberate misrepresentation of the descriptive
abilities of the two systems was at least as obvious as the
sarcasm.
I keep telling myself, math and logic for Izzy Mike and Kim,
and no math jokes in ASFPOR, but then I do it anyway.

Shoes sizes, currency exchange, savings realized on coach
purses when you find out they can be refinished and all the
hardware replaced for free if you send them in...
Bulshit, just have to introduce you to the RIGHT numbers

Oh...well, since you put it that way. I CAN calculate sale percentages at
the speed of light. Huh. Thanks for the paradigm shift!

Great respect for what he has done in the past. The problem is that
times change and the older people get the more set they are in their
ways. What made him great (the boldness to do things his way), is
what is making him fail (the stubborness to keep doing it the same
way).

Ok, time for me to step up and slam Al for a minute...
Without being too 20/20 hindsite like the IAAFers, I blame him big time
for waiting 4 years to replace Gannon with anything besides scrap-heap
QB's, and not immediately hiring another young gun coach after firing
Callahan, instead of scrap-heap coaches.
Coaching, and QB's are the two most important parts of the NFL... I think
Al forgot that.
If I use TOTAL 20/20 hindsite, he shoulda blown up the entire team right
after the SB loss and started completely over, we'd be two years ahead
right now... I think our cap problems are just now clearing out after
extending all the last-leg veterans contracts in that last ditch effort to
get back to the SB. Remember when we were supposedly 35 mill OVER the cap
that year, and it magically dissappeared? It was all still there...
Oh, and he should be shot dead for not getting Rodney Harrison signed...
two sacks yesterday? Fuuuuccckkkkmmmmeeeeee. Damn he would have made
a difference on our defense the last 4 years.
