I have read and heard a whole bunch of NFL experts who say that Rex Grossman
is a lot better than what I gave him credit for in terms of talent and
winning potential.
I guess they did not notice the five turnovers in the Super Bowl but it was
raining any maybe he is not a mudder.
Since the Bears got rid of their best running back and the running backs
they have left are average or below average they must have a lot of faith in
Rex Grossman throwing the ball downfield if they can just coach him up a
little bit to stop making bad decisions. Having Devin Hester on the offense
full time should put the Fear of God into the defenses.
So I am optimistic about a Super Bowl return based on what I have read and
heard. And this time it will be a victory because Tommie Harris is back.
Did any team claim Tank Johnson yet? The Tank had four solo tackles in the
Super Bowl and is young and has never been leg injured so somebody should
take him.

| Yeah, Tank should look great the first 8 games of the year. |

The good news is that by jumping on and off the bandwagon so many times
last season, you were right as often as you were wrong.

And a broken clock is correct twice each day. |

The Bears have nobody on the bench behind Rex Grossman so he had better play
well. Greise and Orton probably would not even make the taxi squad on any
other team outside of Oakland.
Indianapolis seems to be hurtin' for certain on the DL so I expect them to
bid on Tank Johnson. |

You say that now, but wait till one of them completes a pass in a
regular season game, and you'll be singing a different tune then.
At the top of your lungs.
Over and over.
Until they throw an INT, that is... |

Orton did indeed have some fantastic throws. At the end of the 2005
season, I thought he had plateaued and would not get any better, even
with an off-season to digest what had happened. But I thought his work
Sunday night looked better than anything we saw in the 11-5 season. He
still crumpled at times, but he really led the receivers well, and
that's tough to do when you're third string in camp. |

I doubt very strongly that I will be singing the praises of a QB who cannot
unseat Rex Grossman anytime soon. |

You did enough of that last season, didn't you? Here's just a sampling
of some of the threads you started last season singing the praises of a
QB who cannot unseat Rex Grossman:
August 12: Brian Griese should be #1 QB
August 26: That's it...Griese has GOT to be the starter
November 12: Time to bring in Brian Griese
November 26: Put in BG
December 3: QB change...What's the big deal???
There's plenty more under other headers, where you call for Grossman's
removal into the post-season. I guess he won you over with his stellar
Super Bowl performance, didn't he?

C'mon BZ, pick on someone your own size, and
leave the little boy alone. Use your filters, like the others
and if no one quotes him, no one sees him.

Griese is a much better QB and i expect he will become starter before
the season ends. That will cut down the silly mental errors the QB
makes and lead us to SB victory! |

I hope it does not get tot hat point. They still hate Griese in Denver and
I am going to guess there is a reason for that.
Brian makes a very solid back-up, but nothing I have seen so far says he is
anything more than that at this point in his career.
Orton looked like he made some major improvement and I think he has a lot of
upside (height for one, a statue for QB needs to be tall IMO). But none of
that matters because the job belongs to Rex and it will take a lot of big
mistakes for him to lose it.
