Mr. Rice, who does know just a bit about football, made these remarks BEFORE
the playoffs started....
"If anyone matches up pretty good, I would say it's going to be the
Jacksonville Jaguars with Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. No one else
should give New England a problem," said Rice. "Indianapolis, if they had
Marvin Harrison at his best, that's a whole different team. They're winning
football games, but they're not the Colts of old.
"Jacksonville has the running game; they have a quarterback, David Garrard,
who is playing well; they hit you in the mouth; they're physical and can
play in bad conditions. If there is any team to watch out for it's
Jacksonville."

You can spin it any way you want. Rice also said "no one else should give
New England a problem." Does that not mean that Rice expects the Jags to
give New England a problem?
You know.... I think there is more pressure by far on the Patriots than on
the Jaguars. Few expected the Jags to go this far, especially with new
quarterback at the helm. Everyone expected the Patriots to finish strong,
but now the "perfect season" tag puts a whole new meaning on the game. How
many '72 Dolphins will be wearing teal this weekend??? |

There's no pressure at all on the Jaguars at this point. All of the
pressure is on the Patriots, and will be until they win the SB. Based on
past performance they know how to handle it, though. |

Well said. The teams with nothing to lose have given the Pats the most
problems this year. As fans we may think the Jags have nothing to lose but
in the mind of a pro I doubt theres much difference. It's playoff time and
they ALL want to win! Pressure is major for both teams. Lets see who
handles it best.

I expected the Jaguars to make the playoffs after they let the dumbass
leftwich go. That made the whole difference. Jaguars can now sustain long
drives which keeps our defense rested and the opponents offense resting.
The next move the Jaguars should make is get rid of the racist shaq harris.
He is one useless SOB.

Unfortunately, Rice is lesser of a WR than Moss is. ;( |

I don't think so. Moss gets away with alot of offensive pass interference,
mainly pushing off. I guess the Jordan rule applies.

Yeah, he gets away with it all the time. [I guess that's why they've taken
three TDs away from him this year for pushing off -- one of which wasn't
even close to being deserved...] |

Three! That's all! Should be a hell of a lot more. By the way three is
alot but only a fraction of what he really deserves. He does it every game
more than once. He even did it in the Giants game where he scored. I guess
you missed that one. Jordan rules apply. Apparently so does selective
vision.

He caught, what, 22 TDs? Had 3 called back for offensive PI. That's a
pretty high number actually. And if "Jordan rules apply", shouldn't it be
closer to zero? Or at least only for obvious ones and not for ticky tack
ones that even the announcers say is a BS call?

Wait...you call this a push off?? The one right before the bogus personal
foul penalty, by the way...

Gee, the officials *must* be in New England's pocket. [Thanks for proving
my point. I know that wasn't your intention, but it's hilarious that you
did.] |

Why would Brady feel pressure? Doesn't he already have 3 rings? He's already
proven how good he is.

Yes that was a push off but that's just one of many. BTW the refs are in a
real hurry to call pass interference against the opposing teams of New
England.

But they don't call it against New England? I guess that's why New England
is one of the most penalized teams in football and Jacksonville isn't.
Are you new to watching football? Do you even know what team Polian
complained about specifically to get the new "enforcement" of the PI rule?
Seriously, man. Give up. You're making yourself look foolish. |

The Patriots WANT the pressure, and use it as motivation and to help
focus on the game. The way that team is now the more pressure, the
better they are.
Look at the Patriots vs. the Colts and Chargers last year. On paper
the Patriots were vastly inferior. How did the games go? The Chargers
lost, and the Colts BARELY won, by playing maybe the most perfect half
of football I have ever seen. If Reche Caldwell had hung on to one
more pass, NE would have had it's 4th Lombardi in this decade.
