Jack Ikegwuonu and more from the combine

Indianapolis - University of Wisconsin cornerback Jack Ikegwuonu arrives at
the NFL scouting combine today and will take a full physical for teams.
Ikegwuonu suffered a serious knee injury while training last month and team
doctors will spend much of tomorrow examining his knee. Drew Rosenhaus, who
represents Ikegwuonu, says his client's injury is a torn ACL - and a torn
ACL only.
The Journal Sentinel reported last month that Ikegwuonu also suffered damage
to his medial collateral ligament, as well as damage to his kneecap. Of
course, doctors will make the final determination tomorrow.
"Jack's doctor, John Uribe, tells me the knee looks great," Rosenhaus said.
"His knee's stable. He's going to go through the full orthopedic physical
here and I think he's going to impress the teams. He's probably going to
need surgery to repair his ACL, only. He's got no other injuries in the knee
and I think teams are going to be ecstatic with the condition of the knee.
I'd say Jack Ikegwuonu is going to be ready for training camp."
.. Chris Long, a standout defensive end from Virginia, could be the top pick
in the draft. And it's clear Long has learned how to work a room, much like
his father Howie who has worked for FOX television for years.
Chris Long, who just finished meeting with the media, was bright,
articulate, funny and humble. Long was asked what being the No. 1 overall
pick would mean to him.
"Any opportunity to play in the NFL is one I'd cherish," Long said. "I'd
just have to show up with more humility and more of an open mind because
people would expect a lot."
.. Arkansas running back Darren McFadden believes he's the best player in the
draft and can have an impact similar to that of Minnesota's Adrian Peterson
in 2007.
"I feel like I am the best player in the draft," McFadden said. "I can do a
lot of different things. I feel like I'm a very versatile player. I can go
out there and line up at receiver, I can line up in the backfield and block,
line up back there and run, I can throw a pass if you need me to. But like
if I had to, I could play defense."
McFadden will almost certainly be the first running back selected and could
be a top three pick, as well. But he'll have to explain away some
off-the-field incidents, including his role in a bar room fight last month.
"I know I put myself in a bad situation I shouldn't have been in, and I take
full responsibility for it," McFadden said.
