Ravens hire two offensive assistants
Hostler, Ver Steeg join Harbuagh's coaching staff

By Edward Lee

2:27 PM EST, February 8, 2008

The Ravens hired two offensive assistants today, adding wide receivers
coach Jim Hostler and quality control coach Craig Ver Steeg to head
coach John Harbaugh's staff.

Hostler -- who spent the last three years with the San Francisco
49ers, including last season as the team's offensive coordinator --
has tutored receivers such as Santana Moss, Donte Stallworth, Wayne
Chrebet and Justin McCareins.

"Adding another coach who has been a coordinator in the NFL brings
quality experience to the staff," Harbaugh said in a written statement
released by the team. "Jim's emphasis on attention to detail and
toughness match what we want to have on this team. A number of teams
were looking at Jim, and we are fortunate to have him here in
Baltimore."

Ver Steeg left Rutgers, where he coached the running backs in 2007 and
was offensive coordinator from 2003-06. Ver Steeg coached with
Harbaugh when they were at the University of Cincinnati from 1990-93.

"Craig brings a wealth of experience from both college and the NFL,"
Harbaugh said. "He's been a coordinator; he has coached running backs,
quarterbacks and receivers. His experience and his knowledge will be
invaluable to the development of our offense."

Good for Hostler. At least with the Ravens he'll get a fair chance to
show whether or not he can do the job, and, as a former Niner HC, he's
probably going to be successful. Smile

Umm, John, you're being stupid again. he was the OC, not the HC. Nolan,
your butt-buddy, is the HC.

God damn, you really ARE this stupid. You are a pathetic waste of
oxygen.
