Dave Boling crushes Frank Hughes as Hawk blogger. It's not even
close.
Frank may be the hardest working writer in sports for all I know, but
Boling's style is a thousand times more readable.

I suspect Frank's applying his basketball journalist skills to a
football environment (cf: the question about the injured backup DT). I'm
just tired of so-called "journalists" who can't spell, form a sentence or
paragraph, then whine when people hold them accountable for their lack of
journalistic skill ("Abamonu", "there going", etc.).
Dave is basically writing articles for the blog...don't know of that's
the way it should be or not, but it does play better to the crowds.

I have to disagree. Compare:

to
http://tinyurl.com/22v3ez
Hughes is choppy. Boling's writing flows.
Example, Hughes writes: "The Western Washington football staff was on
hand to watch the practice.
Today is Seneca Wallace's 27th birthday.
Trufant on Deon Grant: "He has nice sweet feet. I always call him The
Big Corner."
Boling writes:
"This drill was another reason to support my theory that Rob Sims is
the next rising star of this team. If a young guy makes it to his
first Pro Bowl this year, I bet it will be Sims. On one of the early
plays, Sims blocked down and collapsed the entire right side of the
defensive line, clearing a nice hole for Shaun Alexander. Later, he
absolutely snowplowed Lofa Tatupu. Sims' power, agility and foot speed
are extraordinary. And after practice, on his own, he added some extra
sprint work. Major, major, major stud who also happens to have a
terrific attitude."
Each have their moments, but I chose these two passages because they
are representative of the overall average style.
It is what it is...just an observation.

Point taken. One thing few of us appreciate is how fast some reporters/
columnists have to write, especially on deadline. Imagine covering a
Seahawks game and being expected to turn in three articles within two
or three hours. That includes interview time. Sando did all that and
update the blog.

A Hughes post today: "Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said the plan is
for DT Marcus Tubbs to be back by the third preseason game. Tubbs has
been on the physically unable to perform list, though he has looked
pretty spry running sprints up and down the sidelines while his
teammates practice. The third game is Aug. 25 against the Minnesota
Timberwolves at home. So far, Rocky Bernard and Chuck Darby have been
getting most of the work at starting DTs."
I think the Seahawks will crush the Timberwolves.

LOL, I saw that. Also saw Peter King tout Rob Sims and his work
against Tubbs in practice.
I wonder what these guys are smoking.
