It doesn't even matter if Specter pursues this anymore. It's taking
on a life of its own now. He got the ball rollin' again and that's
probably enough.
Aw, that's a shame

It's not a shame..... it's a very good thing..... IF it's a real
investigation of the entire league. This is about fairness, a level
playing field and the integrity of the game, isn't it? |

And what if it is a fair and thorough investigation, and they find out
that only a few teams are cheating? Will that piss you off? You SHOULD
be pissed that it had to come to this in the first place. There SHOULD
have been a fair and thorough investigation of anybody CAUGHT. Many of
the Pats apologists insisted that "it was only one game", all of this
was about the first seven minutes of the Jets game, "and nothing
more...that's all they've got".
Well, that just wasn't true, was it?
What if, as you suggest, EVERY OTHER TEAM in the league did the same
thing, but destroyed all of their evidence. The investigation would
not be able to CATCH any of those teams in the act, and if the all got
their stories together (highly improbable), they could deny ever doing
it.
The best thing about this is, MAYBE it will bring this behavior to a
halt. And if anybody is caught from here on out, they should certainly
be made examples of, like the Patriots SHOULD have been in the first
place.
The fact is...had any other team besides your beloved Pats been caught
doing this, you would have wanted an example set. But now that it is
your team that started this shitstorm, apologists have tried to
rationalize it by saying "everybody does it", instead of demanding
excellence from their team.
Again, it all boils down to the fact that you can't just step up to
the plate and be ashamed of their behavior. And SOMEHOW, if others are
caught doing the same thing, you think that will pardon your team and
their accountability.
How sad.

Wow...I'm still feeling good about the Super Bowl! It's incredible -- but that Super Bowl victory by the Giants is *still* making me smile! Imagine how insufferable the Patriots fans would have been if they had gone undefeated? They were pretty bad leading up to the Super Bowl, but that one loss was all |
