Read the SI article from last week regarding their offense. There is
a method to what they try to do. The Dribble Drive Motion offense is
the next "big thing." I have seen some high schools in Wisconsin
running it even.

it's streetball Jon. I know all about the dribble drive, basically
it's another name for run-n-gun. The man with the ball penetrates as
the other four clear a lane for him. I shudder to think that any
high school coach is teaching their kids that type of game. |

I'd be surprised if John Calipari is less qualified than you to select
an offense for his team to run.

So actually you *didn't* read the article because that is not what
they do at all. It involves penetration, dishing to the big man
underneath, or pitching out to a three point shooter. And then
rotation to the next guard. It is an offense taylor made for the
shorter, quicker players that have taken over basketball at all
levels.
Here's the article:

It might be better if you actually understand what you are talking
about before you deride it as "streetball."

I bet you would think it was a genius offense if Princeton ran it.
Also, I have a hunch that you would think that any offense run by
Memphis is streetball... and you may have a point, to a certain
extent, since many of their players come from tough neighborhoods in
urban environments. They have an organized system; they just run it
really fast, so that it may seem disorganized to the layman. Also,
they are talented enough as individuals to be able to improvise and
create scoring opportunities that may not be part of the design. It
doesn't always work, but it would be dumb to not do that if they were
interested in maximizing their team's chances of winning.
