Has anyone else noticed how few white players are left starting in pro
football?
In 5 years the NFL will be the Nego Football League.

Most home teams wear white, so I didn't notice.

Not sure what that means, but then, I'm not a bigot.

I thought most home teams wore dark, and just a few (like Dallas) wore
white at home...

Some teams change, depending on various conditions -- for example, Arizona
will often wear white at home for day games early in the season for obvious
reasons. I think that the Redskins also wear white jerseys at home (and this
week, they wore white pants with their white jerseys). The Browns, the
Panthers, and the Dolphins also wore white at home this week.

Unlike the NBA and NHL where the home team usually wears whites, In the
NFL, the home team always has the option of which uniform they want to
wear, the home, or road white. MLB, no option, visitors all wear road
gray's.
Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins usually wear their
whites at home - Dolphins wear their teal for night games at home (and
have added an orange one they will wear for the Washington game this
year). It goes back to an old saying from legendary coach Paul Brown
that football players look bigger in white. Brown knew all the angles of
the game (too bad it wasn't inherited by his son in Cincinnati, LOL).
Probably more of a weather than a traditional thing now, at least in
Miami and Dallas where it gets humid as hell. Make the visitors wear the
dark to sweat more. Takes more out of em - like it did the Houston
Oilers in the 4th quarter yesterday, LOL. |

When you look at the uniform change the Tampa Bac Bucs changed to, that
red & silver uniform does, in fact, look very intimidating. Same with
the Raadars. But, than again, I don't believe the uniform will scare any
NFL player, just looks neat for the fans.
There have, however, been many incidents, where the players themselves
became so superstitious about the uniforms, they changed them. One of
the reasons the Dallas Cowboys went to the whites was they had terrible
success wearing their home blues, that they changed the shade. |

I think you're wrong, but the point is, most games have one team wearing
white.

Personally, I've always considered a black or dark blue uniform to be very
intimidating. Especially during a night game.

Am I wrong? Looking at photos of last week's games at nfl.com:
These home teams chose to wear white: Carolina, Cleveland, Dallas,
Miami, Philadelphia, Washington.
These home teams chose to wear dark, well, non-white, anyway: Buffalo,
Cincinnati, Detroit, Green Bay, Kansas City, New York Giants,
Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Seattle, Tennessee.
It was closer than I thought, 6 - 10, but most home teams wore dark.
Don't know yet about the other 16 teams. It's still anybody's ball
game.
Back to the point: I thought every game had a team in white.
