You think they would take Javon Walker off of our hands?

Who are the free agents you would go after with his salary? |

Ya beat me to this Preacher and I was thinking the same as he was
talking ... "I'm feeling like a 40 year old woman that hasn't given
birth yet" - analogy to not reaching Super Bowl ....
Chad ISN'T a trouble maker as Rome pointed out - 9 Bengals arrested over
time - none were Chad, etc.
Sounds like he's worth rolling the dice for. |

As much as I hate his antics (although they don't compare to Owens/Moss),
the guy produces and isn't an absolute ass. I think a Walker for Johnson
trade straight up would be awesome.....

Walker showed clearly with his comments that he's a "me" guy rather than
a team guy. I can't even imagine Rod Smith even hinting he wanted out simply
because he was no longer the #1 receiver. What bothers me is that Chad Johnson
seems like the same kinda guy...is he willing to sacrifice his stats as a
receiver and go out there and do grunt work for the running game, be a decoy for
a fullback screen, and all those other things a team-oriented WR must do?

No thanks. While the receiving corps could use a little work, especially if
Walker pouts his way out of Denver, there are other areas on the team that
need more attention. There's only so much cap space available and I would
hate to see the O sink as much money in a limited number of players like the
D has sunk a ton in two CBs. Two high dollar CBs on one of the worst
defenses in the league. Marshall will be commanding a fair amount of money
when his contract is up. So what happens when that time comes and you've
already got Johnson on the team soaking up a pile of money? In two years
Johnson will have been in the league nine years. I'd rather pay Marshall and
keep the youth. |

Don't go after the quick fix - build up the trenches. Linemen take
time to develop, but they are where the games are lost. |

Just don't let him go to the Patsies when he gets tired of losing.

Exactly my thinkin'. And I think that's more true for OL than DL. Doom had a
heckuva sophomore effort. I wonder what he might have accomplished had he
not been *the* pass rush.
