Drew Brees played his ass off this past Sunday.
If it wasnt for him the Saints would never be where
they are this season or last. Drew Brees was simply perfect.
In a big game it is impossible to play any better.
Brees was 26-30 for 315 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Marques Colston told us last week that there's something special about the
quarterback. He oozes confidence and leadership. Colston says it starts in
practice and carries over to the playing field and sideline. Because of
Brees, this Saints never blink.
And Sunday it was vintage Brees.
So to all you people who were hollerin a couple weeks ago about how
Brees stunk it up, blow it out your ass!

Yeah, like those two dropped passed that would have
made crucualk 1st downs didn't matter by Henderson and
Patten, eh? or the fact that the Offensive line was offensive
and they lost the battle at the line if scrimmage all day.
three shots from the one yard line and they couldn'tpunch it in,
no that didn't matter either, huh, Dale?
C'mon man, lighten up...

BTW, Merry Christmas, Smile

Of course Brees doesn't look as good when he is playing a good defense!
The Eagles made the Saint's look bad on all fronts because they were
better hands down at every aspect of the game. Brees is an excellent
qb, top two or three in the NFL, but it is a team game and the Eagles
outplayed the Saint's in every way. Bree's didn't have his best game,
but it's rare to have a stellar game against a team playing good
defense. Brees was good enough to win if the Saint's had a defense!!

Whoa there, fella!. Your enthusiasm for Brees is admirable, but
you're carrying it a bit too far, IMO. I'll give you that Brees is an
excellent QB, but top 2 or 3 in the league? No way, no how.

Brady, Favre, Manning, Romo, Roethlisberger are 5 that he's not better
than off the top of my head. Ain't no way he's better than all but
one of those guys.

It's not Brees' fault that Saints lost. it was more of a coaching
failure to call the right plays.

I like Brees...he's one of the most accurate and motivated QBs the Saints
have had in years. What I don't like is his week-to-week inconsistency.
Maybe it's the receivers, the coaching staff or something else...but
whatever it is...he's inconsistent...no doubt about it. If I remember
correctly he was like this up in San Diego. But Brees does have his strong
points...he has great leadership skills...has a very accurate passing game
and can even motivate players when needed. If he's going to be regarded as a
top QB in the NFL...he needs to make that one final step...be consistent
with anyone on the field. I'm willing to give Brees a break since he and
Payton are considered to be "sophomore" members of the team. Let's see what
happens once both of them reach the third season.

Brees is good but I don't know if he's top 2/3...surely within top 10. The
Eagles came to play...their defense kept Brees jumping...just like the
announcers said...Brees couldn't find his rhythm. It seems that Brees knows
how to come out strong but has a hard time finishing strong...and I'm not
sure if it's him or Payton with the play-calling. They seem so close to
being able to close out a game when they're leading but struggle...maybe the
defense is letting up...especially the secondary; they seem to play a little
lose at times. Jason David has been a terrific help to some of the
opponents...wonder why Payton hasn't addressed that problem?

Romo and Roth...?? If Romo doesn't lead the Cowboys to a Championship this
year...he's toast and he knows it. Dallas might give him two or three more
years but he won't last long if it don't happen soon. Roth?? He's
questionable and almost as inconsistent as Brees.
