Packers GM Out of Touch with Favre?
The Pro Bowl is already a week in the rear-view mirror, but we are still no
closer to having a decision from Brett Favre about his future.
Our ABC sister station in Milwaukee cites sources close to the situation
claiming Favre is curious why he hasn't heard at all this off-season from
Packers general manager Ted Thompson. They last spoke after the playoff loss
to the New York Giants.
Favre and head coach Mike McCarthy spoke a few times and were expected to
talk after the Pro Bowl.
Thompson and McCarthy will be in Indianapolis this week for the scouting
combine, where they will likely have to answer a lot of questions about the
star quarterback's future.

I am getting tired of Favre's offseason antics. Does he want TT to beg him
to return? At first he was going to make a quick decision after the NFC
championship game. Then it became he was to talk to MM first. Now it's TT
hasn't spoken to him.
His attempts to make a decision about retiring reminds me of his attempts to
make a decision on whether or not to pass.
He should fish or cut bait. |

Yeah, if he wants to play football, great. This stuff where he wants
to be begged to come back or reassured or whatever is just prima donna
stuff. It's simple - if you want to play football, play, Packer fans
would love to have you back (most of them anyway). If not, then
retire. He took an inexperienced team to the NFCCG, what more
incentive does he need?
A lot of the annual circus around Favre's retirement is due to the
media, but it is tiring. He can stop all speculation now with a
simple decision. If I were him, I would give it one more year. |
