His solution to help the D is to sign Joey Porter? This guy isn't really up
on his NFL news, is he?

Well I think he was insinuating that they should have made a run at a
guy like Porter when they could have.
It is nice to hear good things early about Leon Hall though... and
while I'd like a 12-4 season, I'm not sure where this defense will get
them. |

11-5 or 10-6. Lots of good stuff happening with the Bengals these
days. Brooks is the man at ML. Peko will make everyone forget
Adams. The biggest problem is depth--especially at CB and OL. If
Joseph can't come back, it's going to be an interesting, high-scoring
season. If Jones is out for an extended period, they'l have to watch
out for the Freeny's of the league--Whitworth seems to have problems
with the best pass rushers. I worry, though, if the games are close
at the end. Lewis is nearly as bad at clock management as Edwards in
KC.
King seems to have animosity towards the Bengals--despite his protests
to the contrary. I think if the Bengals can win the first few games--
by whatever score--the season will be fine as the D gels.

I think the talent on the D is better than last year - partially
because of the extra year of experience for Peko, Dexter Jackson, a
healthy Madieu, and if Deltha's head is in the game - but from what
I've heard too I guess Brooks is a beast right now, like a switch
turned on in the offseason...
I think if the D gets it together they can go far, but they can't have
injuries that make Ratliff a starter. He may look good right now, but
he has always seemed slow to me - he supposed to have about the best
hands on the defense.
On offense... it seems Brazelle is catching everything coming at him
and if he can have a solid 8-games until Henry is back AND if Kenny
Irons is healthy, then I think we'll see the O put up lots o'points. |

I wonder if King still thinks the same way now.

I, for one, am glad we didn't make more of an effort to sign one of
the most over-rated players in the NFL.
