Has anyone noticed that the high profile injuries that have happened
this year have been on the new "Field Turf" surface. It makes you
wonder about the supposed claims that it is safe as real turf. I
would be skeptical to begin with, but facts seem to be leading to the
same conclusion.

Stay with real grass!!!

I'm not sure you can blame the turf for both injuries. Then again you
can't say the turf doesn't factor in; it may or may not have. I know on
the Vick play his foot kinda snagged on the turf but is that a case of
his cleats or the turf causing the snag?

What I don't like is how the sports media makes such a fuss about the
fact that injuries are taking place in the pre-season. Oh lord call out
the national guards, injuries are taking place in football!! It's a fact
of life for the NFL player, injuries are going to happen; not if but
when, high-profile player or not.

Go Steelers

Saints players would like the new turf in the dome. Some claim that
its comparable to real grass., as far as safety goes

See me to join our fantasy football league

Real Grass? Ugh... Did you see Hines Field last year? It was horrid!
They must have resodded the place hald a dozen times, and it was still all
mud by the half. The Steelers now have some sort of grass/turf mix, and it
looks like it may hold up.

Injuries are just a fact of the game. I blew out my knee playing in high
school on grass. I wish you could have seen it. I got hit in the back, my
cleet caught in the dirt, I twisted nearly 180 degrees at the knee and went
down. Lucky for me that my cleet came free when I hit the ground, allowing
my leg to snap back around. Injuries happen to everyone. And on all types
of turf.
