First time in recent memory that I've been so happy with an AFC loss
in the super bowl. Couldn't happen to a better group of fans.

Me too. And we got treated to one of the best SBs ever. Three lead changes
in the fourth quarter and everything in doubt right down to the wire. That
was fun.

Their fearless leader showed them how to handle it -- walk off the field
before the last second ticks away. Yeah there was some confusion and stuff
but he knew there was a second left.

The guy who drew 7-3 on the office pool probably thought he drew well
- and really enjoyed the game!

I was as happy with the outcome as I've ever been with a game that had
absolutely no conotations for the Broncos. (Except they play NE next year.)
Belly-check is not only classless in defeat, but he's still a friggin CHEATER!!!
And he deserved to lose for that reason. But even more, he deserved to lose
because the Giants outplayed and outcoached the Pats. I hope in the very near
future the Bronco pass rush can be even close to what the Giants showed.
Just one tiny little downside: Those boring and annoying Dolfinks from '72
continue to celebrate and boast. I really want them squelched. But I want the
Broncos to do it!

When I was a kid, I rooted for those '72 Dolphins. I remember going
down to the family room in the basement w/ my TV tray, junk food and
soda to take in that historic Super Bowl.

I regret rooting for them now.

What a bunch of graceless jackasses. Champagne every year when the
last undefeated team loses? Gag me.

I keep reading about them being irritating - but somehow I've avoided
seeing them.

My only downside to this game was that Junior still hasn't won it all.

Did you see the Pats NG right after the game? About 1000+ trolls in a few
minutes. Never seen anything like it.

Just deserves, if you ask me. You wanna run up the score on people, you get
what you got coming.

And Belicheck is now officially the most classless sore loser of all time.

That's not why it happened.

It's all the wannabee Pats fan trolls that are all over many of the
other alt.sports.football.pro.* newsgroups.

How interesting that he denies it now. Buonoconti always talked about
the champagne (on Inside the NFL). Maybe Shula got uninvited because
he's a two-faced jerk? Okay, that's harsh, but when one looks at the
commercial, that aired in Mesquite, Nevada less than 5 minutes after
the game (showing Little and some other old Dolphins playing a game in
the yard, a truck bearing the logo Giants Delivery pulls up, Little
signs for the package, and there is a football and a note, note says,
Enjoy it for one more year, Regards Eli) would seem to put paid to the
"we don't celebrate it every year" line they are now using.

I think that they probably do celebrate it (even Bob Griese has talked
about popping the champagne corks during some of the college games he
calls), but aren't being open because people think they are jerks
(lol).

Smokie Darling (Annie) <---who couldn't get a $20 bet on the Pats
because we got there after the game started, but they lost anyway (the
teams I put money on always lose ).

The Vegas books lost a record $2.6 mil on that game. I have a hard time feeling
sympathy, though.
