I think it was '77 when To Tall Jones and Harvey Martin shared the Super
Bowl MVP. Maybe Stray and Osi could....... nah, it'll never happen...at
least sore ankle boy hopes it doesn't.

my current wish list is (1) that we continue to see the "new" Eli and
that the old version doesn't show up and (2) that Osi really steps
forward with a dominating performance. He's been pretty quiet in the
playoffs. A strong game from him would seem to be essential.

Giants win? MVP: Justin Tuck.

Osi may be more physically talented than Stray ever was but I don't think he
will ever match Strays mental toughness, and of course run stopping ability.
Tuck may but he is a late bloomer, so it will be difficult for him to match
Strays HOF career.

He'll have to have a monster game, because they love to give these awards to
marquee guys like Strahan and Eli and Plax. But I do agree that pressure up
the middle will do a lot more to disrupt Brady than pressure from our DEs.
Brady is so good at stepping up in the pocket and releasing the ball before
the outside guys can get to him.

Tuck is a big key to having success getting to Brady. But Osi and Strahan
will have to get there as well.

True. I didn't mean to word that last post in a way that suggests that Osi
and Strahan are not huge factors. I just meant that up-the-middle pressure
is REALLY what might disrupt Brady, even if we don't actually get to hum.>

Why is it that Umenyiora was refused entrance to the scouting combine
after his college ball?

Osi I believe went to Troy (College or University), which was such a
small school, that he was ignored. He actually was #2 in QB sacks in
his final year behind Suggs, but thought that his school was so small,
he wouldn't make an impact on the pro level.

Nice prediction. Tuck could very well have taken it: 5 tackles, 2 sacks,
forced fumble, a bunch of QB hits/pressures.

No argument against Eli getting the MVP, after those two fourth-quarter TD
drives/passes, but overall the defense was the MVP. The thing was, they'd
have had to chopped up that hybrid SUV in 11 pieces (or more), since the
whole D was huge. No one guy did it all; they all did their job.
