Question
How long is Cromartie signed for? and when do you think we would have to
sign him by before he would hold out? He might be a 100 million dollar
player in 2 years, if he keeps improving. Since the CB from Buffalo got like
80 million. Scary to think how his stock has gone up. Defensive Player of
the Year 2008.

Chuck Jensen / South Jordan

Answer

It's going to be interesting. He's signed through 2010. And if they wait
that long, you're right, $100 mil.

I think signing him has moved up in urgency alongside Rivers, Merriman and
McNeill, whose contracts run out a year earlier.

Question
Jyles Tucker made the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Wake
Forest.

In the limited playing time, I was shocked how well he rushed the passer and
made plays downfield - especially considering he was a DE in college.

Based upon the fact he even played some in the playoffs, I'm assuming the
Charger coaches have a lot of confidence in him.

What kind of upside do you see with Tucker?

Scott / Honolulu, HI

Answer

Scott, how come you did not have me over when I was there for the Pro Bowl?

I'll let it go.

Tucker could possibly be the complete player that neither Maques Harris nor
Carlos Polk is in the backup role. He can rush the passer and be physical
against the run. (He is a good kid, too.) They see major contributions from
him in the next few years.

By the way, let's give OLB coach John Pagano some credit for finding Tucker
and developing him so quickly.

Question
Any chance Cottrell will be replaced. From the TV shots of him on the
sideline during the Patriots game he was scared to death. What is his
opposition to putting pressure on opposing quartebacks?

Kevin / Memphis

Answer

Kev (and everyone), I thought we were past trying to judge people by what we
see on TV from the sideline.

I don't think Ted was the problem in that game. I think tackling in the
fourth quarter was the problem and not scoring in the red zone was the
problem.

Ted is here to stay.
