2009 Chargers picks
As I sit at the NFL Scouting Combine trying to assess players the Chargers
might pick in April -- no easy task considering they pick 27th and then not
again until the end of the fourth round -- I was thinking ahead to 2009.

While the Chargers have just five picks this year, presuming they get a
compensatory fourth-rounder for losing Donnie Edwards, they will likely have
nine picks next April.

That would be their full regular complement, plus what will likely be two
compensatory fourth-rounders for losing Michael Turner and Drayton Florence.
That's six picks among the first 135 or so.
