Hopefully not a sign of things to come and really hopefully not a
continuation of the brutal 2006 offensive showing.

Same Old Offense....No Touchdowns

.... Well I'm afraid it is. As long as Childress is there to run his
"south coast offense" this is what we'll have to live with, field goals,
and praying the defense takes one to the house. Childress just isin't
going to call enough passing plays. |

I was encouraged by Jackson's lack of interceptions and passing
ability, Williamson's catches and lack of drops, Wade's catches and
running ability after, Peterson's running (without Hutchinson and
Richardson), and I have to include I was impressed by Carter and
Thigpen.
On the defensive side I was encouraged by Edwards DE play, McCauley's
aggressive play and decision making, Robison's non stop motor and over
all the first team defense. Can't leave Thomas out of the mix.
Anyways, it was our first preseason game so there's much more jelling
and improvement to go around, but I'm definitely a realist and feel
it's going to be a very bumpy road this year, but I feel after seeing
our first preseason game, I think we had a very good draft that will
eventually build a strong foundation for the Vikings.
Whether Childress has a good game plan and makes the right calls is
another question. ??? |

I'll be more impressed when the offense can score at least 2 TD's in one
game.

I really think that the scoring will come this year. The team is a
work in progress, and the offense is filled with young players that
need time to get their act together. Give them time and I think we
will see them in the end zone a heckuva lot more than we did last
year. I guess that shouldn't be too hard |

I'm sure Childress just ain't opening up the Offense for the preseason... I
just hope he opens it up by the end of this season

Are you for real. Do you really think Childress is holding back? |

I didn't look at all the scores but by Friday there were a lot of low
scoring games. The 2nd and 3rd games are usually the best preseason
games.
