I realize that Meetchicken's meltdown against West Virginia's other
football team, Appy State, attracted most of footballdom's attention today.
Still, it should be noted that in Morgantown the following events occurred:

Patrick White threw for 192 yards and 2 TDs, and rushed for 97 yards and 2
TDs.

Steve Slaton ran for 109 yards and 2 TDs and had 61 passing yards and a TD.

The WVU defense held WMU to 32 yards rushing and 245 yds passing for 3 TDs.

True freshmen Noel Devine ran for 44 yards and a TD in his first game.

Redshirt sophomore QB Jerrod Brown ran for 41 yds and a TD, and passed for
another 34 yards.

Another beautiful fall day in the Mohole...

You mean "WVa offense" like "West Coast Offense"?

And I meant to say that Slaton had 61 _receiving_, not passing, yards.

Something like that. The broadcast team consistently called ECU's
gameplan a "WV Offense" throughout the whole game. I'm pretty sure I
heard it in 2 other games.

Like I said, RIDE THAT HYPE. Def Coord's are going to catch up soon.
It's frustrating to watch because you just don't see who has the damb
ball.

BTW, if you didn't see it today that kid Patrick Pinkney for ECU is
pretty good.

Defensive coordinators can "catch up" to strategies, but not to DAMB FAST

wake me up when they play a tough OOC opponent. Or a tough OC opponent,
for that matter.

I see one game on their schedule that has the potential to be what I
would consider a quality opponent....in Louiville. And they get
Lville at home.

Now that doesnt mean WVU won't trip to a Rutgers of USF type team
along the way(hell they did last year with USF), but I'm just not a
fan of the one game season. And for WVU(and Louisville), they're
pretty much playing one game seasons.

I'm picking WVU to win the bigleast this year for the same reason i
took Lville last year.....just simply taking the home team to win
their "one game season".

When it's two Heisman candidates, yeah, maybe. If one is really interested
in college football and not just the betting line.

Arkansas has a heisman candidate as well and I didn't see much
interest in anyone paying attention to their directional school game.
Same with Lousiville. And rutgers.

If one is really interested

betting aside, most college football fans are interested in "good"
football games between relatively good teams playing each other....not
when ranked teams play directional schools.

No one is forcing you to read my posts. You don't wanna know how this
year's Heisman winner is doing, that's your call.

My part in this here chatrum is to call attention to my boys. Yours is to
read and comment, or not read. To wonder _why_ I post is asinine.

why not call attention to your boys and expand beyond that? I'm
assuming you watch more than just wvu games. it just seems like
everytime you're talking about another rb or qb's performance, you're
always referencing it back to/comparing it with slaton or white.

I'm a USC fan of course, but when evaluating a qb's performance I
won't always bring it back to what my qb happened to do against that
team as a comparison.

There was no comparing White and Slaton's performances on Saturday with
anyone else's in my post. I merely stated their statistics.

There you go again.

Where did you get in your head that you have any idea what holds the
interest of "most college football fans"?
