I was just looking at the first round and it seems 6 picks including #12,
Marshwyn Lynch, signed 6 year deals, while 8 signed 5 year.
I'd say considering that, Camp Revis can't out right not consider a 6 year
deal.

Are you implying that Tannenbaum is offering 5 year money for a 6
year contract? I doubt that. 6 year contracts do get larger
bonuses and I'd bet that tanbnenbaum offered a larger bonus than
any of the 5 year contracts within 2-3 slots of the Revis pick.

The point is, the ground work is there for a 5 or 6 year deal. They need to
look at the market as to what is being done. I just hope Tannenbaum is not
looking exclusively at last season for his road map.
If the Jets really want to march to their own drum in these matters, they
should be the first to sign a deal every season so the agent can't point to
what others are being signed for.

I agree with you for the most part. It is really looking poor for the Jets
FO right now that they are still unable to get the #1 pick in camp. At some
point you have to give in.

Now that everyone has signed except the two big name QB's, I think
Tannenbaum really has some issues to deal with or he is being a stubborn
child, one or the other.

Come on, Glenn. Since when have you accepted an agent's spin on a situation
as gospel? The Jets have made no comment on the situation - what makes you
think the conjecture you're reading is anything BUT spin? Tannenbaum has a
long history of getting tough contracts done, on time and fairly. The fact
that this is such an aberration should suggest that this isn't necessarily
the team's doing.

Or the team is rewarding Schwarz for the behavior of his other client (PK).
They realize that sooner or later Revis will fire him in order to get his
multi-million dollar $igning Bonus.

Control PK, or lose Revis? Could that be it?

There has to be a method to their madness. They would not do this just to
be unique, or get their bully/tough guy creds. They have a history of
getting these guys signed and in camp on time. This is the only reason I
could come up with that makes any sense to me.

I think it is. Da Brick and Pennington are up in the 5th year. I think the
Jets don't want to deal with signing three #1 picks in the same year.

Assuming we still want them then, they'll both be re-signed long before that
5th year starts.
