Casey Hampton headed to Pro Bowl

Monday, February 04, 2008
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Casey Hampton was added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster today, the fourth
Steelers player in Sunday's game against the NFC in Honolulu.

Hampton replaced San Diego Chargers defensive tackle Jamal Williams, who
withdrew because of an injury. It will be Hampton's fourth trip to the Pro
Bowl and his third straight.

Other Steelers in the game are guard Alan Faneca and linebacker James
Harrison, both starters, and backup quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Steelers Willie Parker and Troy Polamalu withdrew earlier from the game
because of injuries.

Since Brady backed out, is Ben the starter now?

Wouldn't it be Peyton Manning? Ben was 3rd in line I believe.

I wasn't sure how they were ranked, by QB rating Ben was second to
Brady.

I would think Peyton Manning would be the starter, no, Dave/ Peyton was
second to Brady in the AFC voting I think. Besides, I don't think the
AFC is gonna win, not that it matters....NOrv Turner is the coach!!
Just saw highlights from the Pro Bowl practices on NFLN.

I beleive Peyton was second in voting, but Ben was actually second
in QB rating, thats why I thought he might be considered for starting.

It goes by voting not by stats in the regular season. I am pretty sure.
Anyway, I just hope Roethlisberger comes out of this game alright.
Don't want another Drew Brees type of situation if you get my drift. I
am not fond of the Pro Bowl.

I don't think i've ever watched a Pro Bowl. Just bits and pieces of a few.
Total waste of time.

I tend to agree. I think the last Pro Bowl that I watched was about 10 or 15
years ago. It could be longer...

Perhaps in our spare time we could debate the merits of watching a
Pro Bowl versus watching a "pro" bowl.

I've watched MANY a "pro" bowl, I've even got to bowl with quite a few. I
bowled a game with Norm Duke and Jason Couch once, i beat them both. I held
a league average of over 200 for 7 straight years until a bad knee put me
out. I've been out of bowling for 4 years now.

I've always thought the Pro Bowl was a stupid name.

Still hard to gauge the Steelers As for the first two games, you are supposed to beat up on weak teams.

As the 2007 Steelers enjoy the... ....Super Bowl in the comfort of their own homes. As they will for many years to come. FM... (Here come de Jags...) lol.

Steelers voted best dynasty...... Of course we knew they would be.

Marshall Faulk's Mom looks like a Steelers fan! Lovely lady all decked out in black and gold.
