Lol...you're joking right? Eli plays a few games without error and has
one good drive to win a game and you're ready to sell the Cowboys future?

Funny everyone gave Eli several years to win playoff games/superbowl but
want to write off Toni after 1.5 years as a starter. All I can say
is...GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE!

No way. Eli got his championship - good for him - but I'd still like to
see him play well for an entire season.

Spoken like a true Cowboy fan. Romo is not better than Eli...not
anymore. Eli is a now a Super Bowl MVP with a Montana-esque drive to
his credit. Romo is a young, talented QB who has never won anything
ever (except for the privilege of throwing humps into young, nubile
starlets...a nice thing to have mind you, but a SB win AND that prize
would make him a new-age Broadway Joe).

FWIW, today I'd take either of them over what the 'Skins have at QB.
But, Eli is the man...

So if you had the choice of Eli or Romo to QB the Skins, you'd take Eli?

I'm one of Romo's biggest critics in this ng but I'd still rather have
him than Eli. I think he's better as it stands now and has potential to
widen that gap if/when he matures. It's not like Eli lifted the Giants
up and carried them to the SB, he was adequate. I would trade the
Giants' team heart for the Cowboys' team heart though. Dallas just
seemed like they were rudderless and heartless come crunch time.

Eli is Trent Dilfer with one great drive, he's just fortunate enough
to have put that drive together at the absolute perfect moment.

I agree with all of this.

Re: heart. It's a strange thing - hard to quantify - but you can sure
tell when it's missing.

No way. They are already calling Romo "choke artist" and the guy has
only had one and a half seasons of being a starting QB. What the
idiots who say this DO NOT realize or they do but won't admit, is
that some of the best QB's ever have not had the best couple of years
in their introduction into the league. Romo , IMO is similar to those
QB's and he is going to bring us to atleast one
superbowl ................and win the damn thing too!. We keep Romo ,
because he has the talent and the intangables to bring us to the
promised land. Especially now that he has some experience under his
belt, he will be THAT much more dangerous next season. Romo is our QB
for the long haul and he is better than eli and will get even better.
Book it.

WE NEED DEFENSE!

Nay. Romo is way ahead of where Eli was after 1 1/2 seasons. Plus, I
am not convinced Eli is any better than he played in the past. They
have him in a much more controlled passing game now. Mostly short
passes under 15 yards. They also have shifted more to a running
offense to protect Manning. In the SB, manning could have easily been
the goat had the patriots not dropped a few easy INTs. In case you
didn't notice, the Giants won with their defense in the playoffs.
There we no Giants blowouts or huge offensive performances.

Romo is young and hopefully will get better if he maintains an
interest in playing at a high level. This Jessica Simpson thing is
getting me a little concerned though. Enough already. But If he
continues to improve Romo will be more of a playmaker, will win games
for Dallas by elevating the offense and will overcome deficits created
by poor defense. I do not think Eli has that in him.

Put Eli on a team without a good defense and he would not win any
games. Dallas has an average defense and Romo managed to win 13 game
including beating Eli and his defense twice. What Manning may have
won as a Giants has nothing to do with how good a QB he is. If that
was a good yardstick for QB performance the TRent Dilfer would be put
in Peyton Manning's class.

Maybe another question is, "would you pay Eli a long-term contract
worth 60 million dollars like Tony's?" I don't think so.

You're not going to game plan Eli, like you would game plan Tony. If
he wins as a quarterback of the Giants, or any other team, he will
have done so with a "team" that allows him to play conservatively and
not make make mistakes, much like that Burger King guy in Pittsburgh
with Cowher. He will have done so with a running game that doesn't
force you to pass 40 times a game, and a defense and special team that
gives you good field position.

Just watch next year..... all those injuries those players will have
willed themselves to play through will be the same ones that lands
them on the IR next year. Plaxico? Jacobs? etc? probably won't play
half the season next year. Then ask that question again....would I
trade Eli for Tony?
