With the emergence of the artist formely known as toast COREY
WEBSTER(anybody remember elvis patterson) and the solid play of Ross,
Im wondering two things. First, can we move Madison to nickel/
dime....and second, should we take a shot at samuels from the patsies.
He is due a huge raise from the cheaters in NE, and I dont think its
coming. I know we dont like to sign big name FA's but this got is a
solid corner who can hit like a ton of bricks. What do my BLUE
BRETHEREN think?

I think "the artist formerly known as toast" is probably coolest line of
th week. Having said that, I suspect that given the number of passes
thrown, and more pressing needs, that Ross will be the nickle and
Dockery the dime but that they will all get plenty of reps. My only
concern about Madison is the amount of time he spends injured. |

Dockery's just too small IMO. I'd look for improvements to the
secondary beyond what's currently on the roster.

I'm not for going out and spending stupid money on Samuels but they can use
another corner and they definitely should be looking to upgrade at safety as
well. |

Darrell Green.

Since they were good enough to win the Super Bowl, I don't see any
pressing need. Therefore, I'd rather see them look for a future talent
in the draft as opposed to messing with free-agency. Another upside to
drafting talent is that you have a better chance to get a raw rookie
to blend into their team chemistry and/or system, than you do with a
guy who is used to one of the 31 other less-accomplished atmospheres
or systems.

Madison did, to my surprise, play nickle in the SB, so it looks like thats
where he will be slated to go in 2008. As for Samuels, with the emergence of
Webster it looks like Safety is our more pressing need now,
I haven't looked up the FA list on Safeties yet, but if they don't import
one they should draft one high. And no more Will Dempses, please. |

The defense has a character now ... an identity ... that OCs have to
worry about ... cover corners ... quick DE's almost interchangable
with OLBs ... with the talent for multiple blitz schemes ...
Whether a FA or a draft pick ... they should fit that role ... back-
ups should have the same strengths as the starters ... |

No argument. I don't want Hall or Trufant as stop gaps at the prices
they will command. I'm hoping Reese can draft another serviceable
corner and safety and make it work.

Tough loss, good luck next year! I was really hoping to see a rematch of the Packers and my Patriots in the SB. Hopefully next year when your very young team is that much more experienced you guys will be in the playoffs again.
One good thing about the game..... Bigby didn't have any penalties. :) Come to think of it, I never heard his name called for making a play either. Chris
