I was watching the post game show on the local CBS affiliate.
During the Randy Moss interview segment, a reporter told Moss that someone
on the Jacksonville defense had suggested that considering that he only
averaged 10 yards per completion that Brady's performance wasn't all that
impressive.
26 of 28 with 3 TDs and a masterful execution of the game plan not
impressive?

It's the sun. It bakes the brain.
Gotta like what Randy was wearing though....

Consider the on time he did finally go deep - when the Jags started to get
desperate and blitz... and he found Stallworth for a huge gain.
Only a smart and disciplined QB could have gone for such a long stretch with
those sorts of passes. Consider also that if those short passes were so
easy, every QB would be able to do them - but they can't. |

No disagreement from me on those points.
Look ... I think Jacksonville acquitted themselves very well and they and
their fans should be proud of the way they played.
It just riles me that in the aftermath of a tough loss, some (not all) of
these men cannot just be gracious and admit that on THIS night, the
opponents were the better team and their QB played more efficiently than
ours.
What is so difficult about being gracious in defeat? |

To me, it is a poor reflection of their gonad coach.

How did Stallworth not go all the way on that play? He's supposed to be the
Pats fastest player. [I'd actually count Maroney and Hobbs as faster, but
they say it's Stallworth...] |

Stallworth's ability is to maneuver in the open field. In this case,
Mathis (a burner himself) dove and got him by the ankles. Not an easy
play to make at any time. |

Two things - 1. it wasn't a clean catch. He actually bobbled it off his
face before getting control. It was a *great* grab, but probably allowed
the defender to start closing. 2. I wonder if his look up at the jumbotron
(sp?) slowed him down just a hair. |

Jumbotron is correct unless you are the Mayor of Boston. If you are Mayor
Menino he would have been watching the jumbletrom. |

Nothing. I'm a KC Chiefs fan and I have to be gracious all the time.
In fact, I'm not sure how I should act if they ever win a game.

One rookie safety made the comment that anybody could complete a bunch of
dumpoff passes. He was playing so deep in the backfield all night that even
the throw to Stallworth probably looked like a dumpoff from where he was
standing.
OK, so it was a dumb thing for him to say. He's just one guy on a team of
53, though, and you're worried because one player for Jax didn't give your
team the proper respect? Your team is the best in the league, hasn't lost a
game this year, and has won 3 of the last 6 Super Bowls, but oh my, a single
Jaguars player doesn't show 100% respect for your team and you get your
panties in a dither! It's not just you, either, I see this from Jaguars
fans too, whining about how the team doesn't get respect in spite of the
fact that they have practically become media darlings without really winning
anything other than one playoff game so far. Seriously, what is wrong with
people that their egos are so tied up in their favorite teams that they
can't stand for even the slightest negative comment? |

I think sports fans on some level get more pleasure out of the other
team losing, than their team winning.....at least I do....I'll admit
to that....though I'm not a Patriots fan.

Again, this is the product of the incredibly stupid press. Moss was
asked the question. He had to respond.

If the Pats win I finally figured out that there's a bright side to it even if the Patriots win. If they do, we'll be hearing a lot less talk about the '85 Bears being the "greatest team of all time".
