Love it or Hate it... The next two cities that should be awarded a superbowl
are Phoenix and Dallas. Phoenix should go first since their stadium got
built first. Dallas should go second. Besides, it's best to save the best
for last.

Actually, Glendale/Phoenix gets the 2008 Super Bowl.
The 'next' stadium to be built, the one in Indy, due to
open in 2008 if I'm not mistaken. So ... -if- it's in sta-
dium-built order that the decision is made, Arlington/
Dallas would be 3rd, after Glendale/Phoenix -and-
after Indy.

It would be appropriate if Dallas loses out on its bid. The city is on
a real loser roll. Stars, Mavs, Arlington kicks their butt in grabbing

theres that 6 Flags Rangers team. Last place last I looked. |

The following may be biased against Dallas
based on its being from a Philly paper, but ...

Indianapolis appears to have a slight lead
over Dallas in the bidding for the 2011
Super Bowl.
The league's owners will select the site for
the '11 game at its spring meeting in Nashville
on May 22.
Indy, Dallas and Phoenix are the three final-
ists, but a league insider said Phoenix, which
will host this season's championship game,
is running a distant third.
Indianapolis, whose new stadium will open in
2008, is believed to have the support of many
of the owners of the league's midmarket teams.
There also is an anti-Jerry Jones faction in the
league that would rather play the game in Sas-
katchewan than see the Cowboys' owner get
it.
Jones has pointed out to his fellow owners that
former commissioner Paul Tagliabue promised
the '11 Super Bowl to Arlington (the Dallas-Fort
Worth suburb where the Cowboys' stadium is
being built) if the city helped fund a stadium.

Isn't the whole point of this that the NFL might go with London or
Mexico City?
Dallas was such an ass by saying they were the 800 lb gorilla that the
NFL had to listen to.

The 2011 Super Bowl is being chosen
between Glendale/Phoenix, Indianapolis,
and Arlington/Dallas. The earliest that a
non-U.S. city might be involved is 2012. |

In article ,
observer@shinyfeet.com says...
I can't see the NFL playing a Super Bowl in Indianapolis unless no other
cities bid on it, it's a small market in the frozen rust belt.
