Listen. Your team honestly doesnt stand a chance and it's got nothing
to do with refs or cheats or anything other than the FACT that your
team is severely overmatched both in players and coaches. It's really
that simple.
Just be glad your team made it this far and call it a good season and
move on. Trust me on this one I am trying to save you some heartbreak.

Any given Sunday...... or Saturday, as the case may be. i don't
know what Jaguars team Pats fans have been watching this year....... but
this is the only team that worries me. I think it's going to be a damn
close game...... and I'm really not sure who I'd put money on in this one. |

Yes I realize there are some if's in there. That said it's logical to
think that there are too many if's. Let's take a look at the if's that
need to happen and then re-think.
If: Jacksonville plays mistake free football AND
If: New England defense plays poorly AND
If: Tom Brady has the worst game of his career AND
If David Garrard has the best game of his career AND
If: Randy Moss AND Wes Welker both go down in the first qtr. AND
If: Fred Taylor has a 150yd rushing day with 3 td's AND
If: Bill Belichick somehow forgets how to coach
I'd say I am being reasonable here with these if's. So tell me again
HOW the Jags beat the Pats? |

The Belichick forgetting how to coach line is silly. Otherwise, that's a
fair assessment, except that they wouldn't need ALL of those if's. A few of
them would do it. Pick any three together, and tell me how the Jags don't
win that game.
I think the most likely combo that would lead to a Jaguars win would be a
dominating running game coupled with some interceptions on defense.
Do I think it's likely that will happen? No - but it is a possibility. |

It could happen if the refs do an HONEST job.

For one thing, I would definately not call NE cheaters. They just happened
to get caught and it was only for one game so even if the commisioner had
done the right thing, they'd *still* be 15-0 with one no contest, which is
very impressive.
That said, I think the Jaguars beat NE the way most of the people in the
media think they will. By dominating TOP and running the ball right into
the heart of their soft front seven. The key will be avoiding the kinds of
mistakes that made what should have been a laugher in Pittsburgh close in
the last quarter.

To you, the "right thing" means violate NFL rules? Because that's what the
commissioner would have done if he made the first game "no contest". Not
only do NFL rules stipulate that he can't make a game "no contest" because
of cheating, but they also state that before he can force forfeiture they
have to first demonstrate that the cheating had an effect on the outcome of
the game. He said it didn't and it's obvious that it could not (the camera
was confiscated, even if they DO use it in-game, which is unlikely anyway).

"Soft" front seven? You're talking about three of the best defensive
linemen in the game and one of the best linebacking corps in football. Oh
yeah, and a SS whose made a career out of stopping the run. |

I'm just pointing out the facts. The NE front seven is way soft. I will
admit though that back when 3 of them were in their prime, they were pretty
good, maybe even great players. By the way, is Singletary playing for you
guys these days? I forget. If not, I hear Butkus is available.

Let's see...Seau, Bruschi, and...who's number 3?
The "facts", as you call them, are that the front 3 are considered among the
best at their positions. The LOLB is coming off the best season of his
career (enough to earn him a pro-bowl spot at least), and the ROLB was one
of the most coveted free agents in football this offseason. Yes, the two
ILBs are "past their prime". So I guess that's who you're calling "soft"?
Well, Ron Jaworski certainly doesn't think so, so I guess I'm not alone...
As for whether there is a chance to run inside against Tedy Bruschi and
Junior Seau, Jaworski said: "I don't see it inside. People look at the age
of Junior [Seau] and Tedy [Bruschi] -- maybe some of the giddy-up isn't
there in pass coverage -- but I don't bring up age in the run game." |

I was going to give Rodney Harrison the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe, but then again maybe New England loses. We just don't know since the
jordan rules have applied to the patriots all season.
