On Jan 10, 3:04 pm, Husky could not resist the urge to make a fool of
himself, came out of the closet and blathered,
"You've brought silliness to a new level."
Only gays use words like silly and silliness.

I know, but thanks for the clarification.
Either way, I'm not taking this thread seriously. |

Ok, fine. The Steelers were more manly men.
The Patriots are just better at football, that's all. |

Not only that, but he assumes that recruitment would have the same flavor.
How do we know that half those players would even make the team, when the
focus at the level of high school (and earlier!) would have been far
different? Today we see *professional* high school football coaches spot a
300lb sophomore and try to groom him with $1500 football camps and a home
basement of expensive exercise equipment. They're on more pills than
grandma. Some even have personal trainers and personal football coaches.
The kid has the luxury of growing up watching 2 games every Sunday and 2
more on Saturday. They're thrown into organized leagues at the age of 7,
and $150k colleges are giving anyone who's pretty good a free ride (and
perks); parents know this. |

Does it for me. That's about as good a way as any to compare teams of
different eras. Well done. |

>Dude, that's it exactly.
The Pats could goon it up like the 70's era players as well. The Transmogrifier works both ways. |

The Pats have played in the toughest of conditions. In the playoffs it was 4 Degrees against
Tennessee, what the wind chill was I'd have to look it up. I'd was unhealthy to be outside.
I think the Pats would love to go 'Old School". Look at 2001, After that game the crying from the
opposition changed the way football is played. Your penalizing them because they are maximizing
their team to today's rules. Your nostalgic viewpoint clouds your opinion. They CAN'T play that way
in today's football. Ask Rodney Harrison or Vince Wilfork. |
