So, word is that he'll likely end up here.
As long as they don't overpay too much in the trade, I'd be in favor of
getting Johnson as opposed to Lance Briggs, who they reportedly will also
pursue.
They should concentrate on upgrading the d-line instead of linebackers, IMO.

I'd suggest we quit going after high-priced free agents and other shiny
baubles that the other guy has for a while and concentrate on building a
good team through the draft. |

Your suggestion is a good one, but I'm not optimistic it will happen.
WR is one area where it's probably better to target a FA....because we are
unlikely to be able to chose a similar-calibre player via the draft.
Linebacker OTOH is not something that I would splurge over in FA. As
mentioned, better to upgrade the line. |

I dont see them getting either CJ is going to want a big contract and Briggs
even bigger. I believe all of this is just to up their price in free agency
and i hope Cerratta Stands pat. if the skins can get some good drafts and a
few decent free agants they will be good and dominating withen 2 seasons |

No doubt. WR is, without question, the most unreliable position to
draft. Over 50% of 1st round picks at the WR position are out of the
NFL within 3 years.
Game changing, QB boosting WRs are extremely rare, and if you have a
shot at one, you take it.
The young D-Line (developed via the draft) did reasoniby well this
season. They can add more via the draft to back-fill the guys that are
getting old (Griffin and Daniels). |

Well, it might be a good idea to go for a versatile LB. McIntosh is
supposed to be out next year, so he could fill in in that spot, then
the year after slide over to take over for Fletcher or Washington.

I'd rather have an ass-kicker LB rather than a prima donna WR. "Ocho
Cinco" is indeed a talent but as we saw with the likes of Randy Moss
and TO this year, if teams want to take them out of the game they
can. A top-flight LB can make a difference on every single play. A
deep, versatile WR corp w/o a "superstar" is the way to go. Zorn will
have to build that if he truly believes that the path to victory is in
the passing game. |

Last I heard McIntosh was supposed to be back by pre-season? Of course, we
still need cover for him anyway. |

Oh, I'd heard that kind of injury between healing and rehab could cost
him all of next year. Guess that was just the early idea.

But if you take a talented player out of the game, you pay for it with
increased vulnerability somewhere else. |

You probably should be concerned about center too, after some comment.
