Cowboys in relative strength on about the
same level as the Cowboys are stronger
than the Eagles, based on the Jeff Sagarin
mathematical rating methods displayed at

ranked 1-2-3-4.

The Giants-Redskins-Eagles are ranked
9-10-13.

The things they figure out with equations and computers. I'll bet it
sells papers. Then fans can use them to line the bottoms of bird cages.

Far inferior to 'gut feel'? Given that
'gut feel' usually includes quite a bit
of win records and point differential,
apart from means and averages, all
of which goes into Sagarin's math,
probably not all that far removed
from 'gut feel' come to think of it,
with some exceptions. For example,
I doubt most fans have the Baltimore
Ravens ranked as low as 25th. Most
fans' 'gut feel' does approximate Sag-
arin's Top 10, probably.
