Stock up:

Tampa Bay. Super Bowl favorites again. Brick is right on not having a
great offense, but if you can't score on them and you're Philly, it
really makes you wonder who might be able to score on them, since they
also proved to be about the only side who could stop Michael Vick. As
sick to my stomach as it makes me, it sounds like that loudmouth
Warren Crap might have to reserve his other ring finger.

Minnesota. Wins the NFC North by a lot now. Might not be more than
8-8, but since the entire division has to play the AFC and NFC Wests,
that might be all that is needed. Kicked Green Bay to the curb and
probably finished off the Packer run for a few years now.

Houston. Speaking of kicking teams to the curb... Wannstedt ain't
lasting the season if this is any indication. 'Nuff said.

Tennessee. There were a number of week 1 games which will impact the
playoffs -- tiebreakers if nothing else for seedings. The Minnesota
win, the Tampa win, and this one for sure will probably ensure that if
the Raiders win the AFC West, they're probably going to have to go
back to Tennessee for the title tilt.

Giants. In the vacuum Philly has provided with a big win over the
Rams.

49ers. Kicked a bad team to the curb. Chicago might not even win a
game this year at this rate.

Atlanta. Big win minus Vick. That'll probably give them one more as
it's beginning to look like the NFC South could have 3/4 of the
division in the playoffs.

Stock down:

Green Bay. Time to stop the damn excuses and know that Favre is on his
last legs, if not already past them. God bless him, but what has this
team done since the last Super Bowl they went to??? 1-3 in the
playoffs, no big wins at all to speak of, and then kicked in the teeth
to the tune of a third-quarter 27-3 against the _VIKINGS_ in week one
at home. Done.

Miami. You don't lose to F-ing Houston. Done.

St. Louis. On life support. Bulger has to lead this team to the
promised land and Martz needs his head out of his ass. Or they're
done.

Philly. Did they lose too much to be competitive???

Oakland. Did the age finally catch up to them this offseason???

Chicago. What a joke...

Ongoing ticker of playoffs: Doesn't mean much now, but...

NFC: Tampa, San Fran, NY Giants, Minnesota for the divisions. Atlanta
and Carolina for the WCs.

AFC: Tennessee, Kansas City, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh for the
divisions. Denver and Indy for the WCs.

Big week 2:

Detroit at GB. Mooch has to be salivating. He's got a shot with a team
that should've beaten GB at Ford in week 3 last year, if not for a
last-minute dropped TD after a successful onside.

San Francisco at St. Louis. St. Louis must win San Francisco's opener
here.

More when I think of it...

Mike
